Division 01 — Gold Mining & Processing

From ore body to doré bar, under one roof.

Nexa Forte operates gold mining and processing sites across Zimbabwe and Tanzania — combining hard-rock extraction with in-house beneficiation, so grade discovered underground becomes gold delivered above it.

Who we are

Built on two goldfields, run as one operation.

Nexa Forte's mining division holds producing assets in Zimbabwe's Midlands greenstone belt and Tanzania's Lake Victoria goldfield. We mine, crush, concentrate, leach and pour — carrying ore through every stage of recovery rather than handing it off at the pit gate.

Our approach favours steady, well-engineered production over speculative scale: right-sized plants, disciplined metallurgy, and crews who know their reef.

Where we work

Two goldfields, one standard.

Each site is run to the same metallurgical and safety standard, adapted to its own geology.

Zimbabwe

Midlands Greenstone Belt

Underground and near-surface hard-rock mining feeding an on-site crushing, milling and CIL plant.

  • Ore type Hard-rock quartz reef
  • Method Underground & open pit
  • Processing Crush · Mill · CIL
  • Status Producing

Tanzania

Lake Victoria Goldfield

Alluvial and shallow hard-rock operations, with gravity concentration and a leach-adsorption circuit.

  • Ore type Alluvial & oxide ore
  • Method Open pit & wash plant
  • Processing Gravity · CIL/CIP
  • Status Producing
What we do

Two disciplines, run in sequence.

Mining and processing are usually separate businesses. We run them as one line, so recovery decisions get made with the ore body in mind.

Mining

Getting the ore out

Exploration-led, engineering-disciplined extraction across underground and open-pit sites.

  • 01
Exploration & drillingResource definition and grade control ahead of the mine plan.
  • 02
Drill & blast / excavationUnderground reef development and open-pit bench mining.
  • 03
HaulageOre hauled to a run-of-mine pad, waste to designated dumps.
  • 04
Grade controlBlended feed to keep the plant running on-spec.
Processing

Turning ore into gold

On-site beneficiation from run-of-mine ore through to a poured doré bar.

  • 01
Crushing & millingJaw and cone crushing, ball milling to leach-ready particle size.
  • 02
Gravity concentrationCoarse free gold recovered early via spirals and centrifugal concentrators.
  • 03
CIL / CIP leachingCyanide leach with carbon-in-leach or carbon-in-pulp adsorption.
  • 04
Elution & smeltingStripped carbon, electrowinning, and furnace pour to doré.
How we operate

What runs alongside the ore.

Safety underground & on plant

Ground support standards, permit-to-work systems, and daily pre-shift checks across every site.

Tailings & water management

Engineered tailings storage, cyanide destruction before discharge, and regular water quality monitoring.

Local employment

Workforces drawn primarily from communities around each site, with skills training built into the mine plan.
